Rajat Rialch

Rajat Rialch’s illustrious journey from a trained chef to a leading consultant is a testament to his passion and vision. After working with a top consulting firm, he founded HPG Consulting in 2000. What started modestly has now expanded to prestigious projects across 34 countries, especially in the SAARC, Middle East, and African regions. Rajat’s academic background is impressive, with an MBA and specialised courses from Harvard Business School and Wharton University. His expertise has seen HPG Consulting involved with renowned hotel chains like Hyatt, Hilton, Accor, Marriott, Rotana, Taj, and Rove, as well as tech giants such as Google, Deloitte, TCS, and Microsoft. His projects range from luxury hotels to mega kitchens serving 200,000 meals.

A Professional Member of the Food Service Consultants Society International (FCSI), Rajat graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhopal, and earned an MBA from I.M.I Delhi. He further enhanced his skills with a course in Managing & Transforming Professional Service Firms from Harvard Business School.

Recently, Rajat launched a chain of restaurants in Delhi and ventured into adventure resorts, with the first in Himachal Pradesh. An avid mountain trekker and passionate rafter, Rajat embodies a spirit of adventure and exploration, driving HPG Consulting to new heights in the industry.

Pallavi – Senior VP

With over a decade of hands-on experience in facility design, she has been an integral part of projects for major hotel chains such as Marriott, Accor, Langham, ITC, and TAJ. Armed with an MBA in Finance & Marketing, she embarked on her professional journey with HPG Consulting, accumulating over a decade of experience in facility design. Her expertise encompasses designing, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and project coordination. She is a key player within the HPG team, known for her ability to deliver innovative and efficient project solutions.

Birender Kumar Singh – Senior VP – R&D/Operations/Projects/Technical

Birender Kumar Singh brings over 24 years of diverse experience to HPG Consulting, encompassing the paint industry, teaching, IT, and hospitality. A postgraduate in Chemistry from Kumaon University, Birender has dedicated the past 12 years to food service design, project execution, and equipment development within the hospitality sector. Birender is known for his exceptional technical expertise in kitchen design and food service equipment. His role at HPG Consulting involves overseeing the technical aspects of projects, ensuring precision and quality from conception to completion.

Noteworthy projects under his belt include prestigious names such as Mama Shelter Dubai, Cineplex Dubai, Double Tree by Hilton Oman, Movenpick Richreit Tower Business Bay Dubai, Sofitel Mumbai, Novotel Mumbai, Taj Bangalore, Hyatt Regency Chennai, Pullman Gurgaon, IBIS Pune, Sheraton Greater Noida, Grand Mercure Bangalore, Dusit Devrana New Delhi, Vivanta by Taj Gurgaon, Deloitte Hyderabad, Wipro Hyderabad, and M3M Merlin Sector 67 Gurgaon.

Having been with HPG Consulting for 5 years, Birender continues to drive excellence and innovation in food service design, project management, and equipment development, ensuring each project he handles meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Raj Kapoor – Executive VP – R&D/Operations/Projects/Technical

With over 17 years of experience in hotel planning consultancy, Raj Kapoor stands out as a key figure at HPG Consulting. An Architecture graduate from C.R.R.I.T, New Delhi, Raj began his career as an Assistant Architect in hospitality projects with a renowned architectural firm. At HPG, he has honed his expertise in designing the Initial Zoning Plan for the back of the house in hotels and catering establishments.

Raj is known for his thorough knowledge of operational planning, operational budgeting, and technical services. His career is marked by his involvement in several high-profile projects, including Marriott, JW Marriott, Novotel, Ibis, Courtyard, Le Meridien, and Four Points across various cities. His strategic approach and detailed planning have contributed significantly to the successful execution of these projects.

Amit Shrivastava – AVP Projects

Amit Shrivastava, an IHM Bhopal alumnus, brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to HPG Consulting. Specializing in Facility Planning and Food Service Design across healthcare, corporate, and educational sectors, Amit has spent the past decade focusing on these areas.

At HPG, Amit has advanced the corporate facility planning division with his innovative approach. He crafts creative Food & Beverage concepts, determines the optimal mix of F&B outlets, and oversees back-of-house operations. Additionally, he implements efficient and sustainable waste management systems for large-scale kitchens.

Amit's expertise in Facility Planning, F&B concepts, sustainable kitchen operations, and back-of-house efficiency continues to drive innovation and excellence at HPG Consulting.

Bhoj Raj Sharma – Assistant Director Projects

A thorough hotelier with vast experience in pre-launch, launch and operational stabilisation of hotels, Bhoj brings insights that are client-centric.

Govind Gauniyal – AVP – R&D/Technical

With a robust engineering background and over two decades of industry experience, Govind Gauniyal leads the technical department at HPG Consulting. His expertise is pivotal in managing design, budgeting, site quality control, and technical specifications, ensuring the seamless execution of projects. Under his leadership, the technical team delivers precision and excellence across all phases of project development.

Govind's impressive portfolio includes key projects such as The Den Hotel in Bangalore, JW Marriott Kolkata, Taj Hotel Tirupati, Hilton Residency Bangalore, and many more across the globe, including Hilton Garden Inn Al Khobar and Rotana Cayan Cantara in Dubai.

Govind holds a Diploma in Architectural Draughtsmanship from I.T.C, Delhi. He has been with HPG Consulting for 13 years, contributing significantly to the firm's reputation for technical excellence.

Balasubramaniam – Director BD

Bangalore

With a robust background in Mechanical Engineering and a diverse set of qualifications, Balasubramaniam TN brings a wealth of expertise to his role as Director of Development at HPG Consulting. Starting his career as a planning engineer with the SPIC group, he gained valuable experience in Engineering Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) across Oil & Gas and thermal power plant projects.

Post-MBA, he transitioned to Flipkart, honing his skills further.

Balasubramaniam has over half a decade of specialized experience in solid waste management and wastewater engineering project sales. His expertise has been pivotal in implementing projects for major brands such as Taj, ITC, Marriott, Sheraton, Bosch, St. Gobain, IOCL, HPCL, Honda, and various urban local bodies. His multifaceted interests, including cooking, skateboarding, percussion, artisanal hobbies, and writing, add to his dynamic profile.

Kapil Nayyar – Asstt. Director Projects

Kapil Nayyar, a graduate of the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, brings over 22 years of diverse experience in hospitality to his role as Senior Project Manager at HPG Consulting. His extensive career spans operations and pre-opening phases for hotels, cafes, and standalone restaurants, with a strong focus on Food and Beverage, kitchen design, and food service equipment.

Kapil's expertise in project management is evident through his involvement in high-profile projects such as the Omaxe Integrated Sports Arena in Delhi, the Adani Leadership Institute in Ahmedabad, and various developments in Bengaluru and beyond.
